Background

Telecloud Vision is a Software development company– a Beirut-based group in the process of expanding its headcount and offering in the Middle East. TCV approached Crowhite in December 2021 after previously supporting one of the Directors on a difficult recruitment assignment.

Looking to rapidly grow the businesses and create a new office in Istanbul, Turkey, they initially sought a Regional Manager to support the Partner’s growth plans.

Being a niche company, they had no prior challenges in regard to recruitment, but wanted to partner with a firm they felt had a comprehensive understanding of their needs as well as a wide reach, so they could access a wide talent pool.

Approach and solution

The Crowhite team worked closely with the hiring manager, consulting on the profiles to narrow down the exact type of candidate that would be best suited for the job. Over a 10-day period, the requirement evolved a few times, with Crowhite working exclusively on the assignment.

After identifying the actual level and experience required, a detailed hiring strategy was agreed which included an international MENA search and a comprehensive database search of local markets.

The Crowhite team took a proactive approach to the assignment, firstly leveraging our ecosystem of partners, receiving encouraging referrals across our vast network of global candidates and sourcing on the fly (headhunting).

Strategic Boolean searches were also created on LinkedIn and other specialist job boards to tap into the passive candidate market. Leaving no stone unturned.

The nature of these roles and the level required meant most suitable candidates were not proactively considering new roles. To overcome this challenge, Crowhite takes the time to develop a deep understanding of the business, leveraging the values, mission and employee proposition to really sell the opportunity to potential candidates. Time and time again, this method has proved very receptive when targeting Mid-Senior professionals who are beyond extrinsic motivation like salary range.

The results

The project initially required Crowhite to assist in hiring a Regional Manager (Turkey), but this requirement evolved as the company then sought to hire a Senior graphics designer (Beirut) and a Senior Backend Developer (Beirut). For all 3 positions, a shortlist of 10 profiles was supplied:

  • Regional Manager: 10 shortlisted, 4 interviews, 1 placement
  • Senior GD: 10 shortlisted, 2 interviews, 1 placement
  • Senior Backend Developer: 10 Shortlisted, 6 first-round interviews, 3 second-round interviews, 1 placement

 

As a result of this work, TeleCloud Vision SA, was able to achieve its growth targets, improve its software offering and establish a new office in Turkey through 3 strategic hires.
