Background

Triton Series is an online casino/poker tournament company based in Europe and Malaysia.

They were looking to place 3 roles: Head of NFT, Social Media Manager and a Senior Growth Hacker, with experience and knowledge of Digital collectables, NFTs and Casino games to help build out their NFT/Web3 department. Crowhite was engaged in November 2022 because they needed the right candidates to start in January and February 2023.

Solution 

Triton is currently moving into the Blockchain, Metaverse and NFT space and needs a founding team to build out the department. This meant we had to focus on cultural fit and longevity, as these candidates will help form the foundations of this department.

We began by meeting with the strategic director who was spearheading this new department to gain a detailed understanding of the development programme, timeline, experience required, company culture, and the technologies that would be used. Taking a consultative approach remains at the heart of Crowhite’s recruitment process.

As with most start-ups, keeping costs low is important, so after an in-depth discussion, it was decided that a capable internal candidate would fill the Head of NFT role until their next funding in 2023. So the focus became the Growth Hacker and Social media roles.

Firstly, we reached out to contacts in the region who confirmed that the talent pool for the JDs was small. So after identifying the actual level and experience required, we conducted an international APAC headhunt of candidates in similar industries like E-sports, E-gaming, Blockchain development and web3 companies, with a strong understanding of online marketing, analytics, user behaviour, and an ability to identify and test new marketing opportunities

Result

The nature of these roles and the level required meant most suitable candidates were not proactively considering new roles. But the relatively unexplored part of Web3 where blockchain and casinos meet was a huge selling factor with this role, which helped us deliver the role on time and under budget.

As a result of this work, Triton was able to achieve its user acquisition, engagement and growth targets all under budget.
